The year was 2000 and the world was beginning to change.

Lisha and JEMS sat in a coffee shop in Sausalito, California dreaming of a brighter future for themselves and the world.

In essence, they where dreaming about YOU: a community of like-minded people with a desire to leave the world a better place than they found it, through discovering inner truths and talents, developing their best qualities, and masterfully offering these gifts to the world around them.

Their dream began to develop over the next 10 years as JEMS left his career as a graphic designer to teach yoga and travel the world, learning about cultures, before returning home to earn his Master of Education degree.

Lisha began her own journey, teaching yoga, raising a family, and cultivating her education as a transpersonal therapist. She never let the dream of YOU venture far from her thoughts and in 2010 Your Own University began.

Lisha knew that she could study the masculine and feminine, but as a woman, she would never truly understand the depths of the masculine personality. This led her to reconnect with JEMS and invite him to bring his experience and masculine direction to YOU.

In 2020, JEMS and Lisha birthed the Your Own University community and website that you see today: daily email support, mastermind gatherings, master classes with international teachers, and an online community of like-minded people.
